Thisted at regional climate summit

Lise Degn from the municipality of Thisted gave a speech about how Thisted has achieved the status as Denmark’s leading climate municipality together with CLIMATE SOLUTIONS Thy & Mors.

Thisted was invited to the North Jutland Climate Summit by Rådet for agroindustri, to give a speech about the many things Thisted has done to achieve the large amount of renewable energy in general consumption. With more than 100 % electricity from renewable energy and 85 % of public heating Thisted is the area in Denmark with the largest amount of carbon neutral renewable energy pr. capita. This is, among other things, due to Thisted’s flexibility and benevolence towards innovative energy solutions but one must never forget the many energetic citizens of Thisted who has made it all possible. Lise Degn had invited CLIMATE SOLUTIONS Thy & Mors to speak of these matters.

The interested listeners came from industry, agriculture, local politicians and members of the Danish parliament and the saw many examples of technology in Thisted ranging from biogas to wave power.
