Thisted exploits green funds
Thisted Municipality has received a total sum of DKK 750,000 from the Government’s Green Scheme - also called the Windmill Pool - which aim is to support initiatives in renewable energy.
The money is part of the municipality’s overall energy plan. The money was used to start a network for renewable energy architecture in northern and western Jutland (see www.passivhusnordvest.dk). They were also used for creating an Energy Adventure Route in the area, in cooperation with VisitThy.
Thisted municipality’s share in The Green Scheme is calculated on the basis of the number of wind turbines, which the municipality has standing. A typical wind turbine of 1000 kilowatts (1 Megawatt) contributes DKK 88,000 to the total pool, which is managed by the company Energinet.dk.
The magazine “Renewable Energy and the Environment”, issue four, has published an article on Thisted municipality’s use of the green funds.
