Thisted Municipality

Torsdag den 26. maj 2011 havde borgmester Lene Kjelgaard Jensen sammen med DanWec fonden besøg fra Asturien i Nordspanien.

Thisted Municipality has received a total sum of DKK 750,000 from the Government’s Green Scheme - also called the Windmill Pool - which aim is to support initiatives in renewable energy.

A brand new higher education as Energytechnologists is now offered by Business Academy Thisted.

The fund will help to ensure that Hanstholm Harbour is an incubator and center for development and testing of wave energy plant in Denmark. Copenhagen Climate Exhange, COP15 and Bright Green Expo are all receiving Thisted when UN’s Climate Summit is making waves in Copenhagen the 3rd to the 18th of December.

Energetic Citizens of Thisted work for even more experiences with Climate and Nature

A new nature route in the country side and a bus route will create a strong connection between experiences in nature and climate. This was the message from tourist manager Ole Riis and park ranger Jan Patuel Hansen at the last meeting at Energetic Citizens of Thisted in Doverodde.

The Danish wind industry is getting the largest test area for wind turbines in world and it is situated in the municipality of Thisted. Mayor Erik Hove Olesen predicts that this will create new jobs and bring tourists to the area.
