Thisted Municipality

It was a bright and sunny evening in Hundborg the 20th of april. This caused some concern among the organizers of Energetic Citizens of Thy. Spring and beautiful weather normally mean that house owners mend their gardens and farmers work the fields. Luckily 20 people showed up in the local village hall to talk about energy related local initiatives.

In Thisted we live and breathe renewable energy. That is the essence of the Thisted model where people, economics and technology come together to create clean carbon neutral energy.

The Danish Climate and Energy minister Connie Hedegaard is visiting Thisted on the 20th of November. Here she’s going to learn of the climate solutions produced in here.

The J.P. Jacobsen Center, Thisted’s new shopping center opening later this year, is having an innovative approach to cooling.

In just a few weeks the town of Hurup will start its new co2-neutral heating plant to provide the local community with even more environmental friendly district heating.

50 invited guests experienced the exclusive world premiere for the climate film made by the municipality of Thisted presented by Mayor Erik Hove Olsen.

The citizens of Thisted Municipality met on the 17.th. of September to discuss the local energy planning.
